It is so lovely to meet you!

Growing up, I was deeply inspired by the timeless lessons passed down from my mother and grandmother — two remarkable women who shared the art of recognizing true quality, elegance, and style. They showed me how to identify luxurious fabrics, recognize impeccable craftsmanship, and build a wardrobe that reflects sophistication and practicality, all while staying within a smart budget.

These early lessons in fashion paired with exercising sensibility, shaped my passion for helping others experience the confidence and empowerment a personally curated wardrobe can provide.

Lessons shared from my grandmother, to my mother, to me, to you.

Today, I bring those values into my work as a wardrobe consultant, helping you build a wardrobe that reflects your essence. My approach focuses on investing in high-quality basics and classic styles that never go out of fashion. A thoughtfully curated wardrobe should not only be beautiful but also functional, versatile, and sustainable!

About me…

  • Fashion Enthusiast

There’s a significant difference between shopping to build a wardrobe and shopping for an immediate need. Shopping with a deadline can be stressful, limit your flexibility and options often leading to overspending on something you don’t truly love.

In contrast, curating your wardrobe allows you to take your time, shop at a relaxed pace, and compare prices—ensuring each piece is both within your budget and something you’ll enjoy wearing for years to come.

  • Fashion Consultant

Building a wardrobe is about curating a collection of versatile, timeless, and functional pieces that reflect your personal style while complementing your lifestyle.

It involves thoughtfully evaluating and decluttering your closet, defining your unique style and the look you want to achieve, focusing on essential foundational pieces, and incorporating fun, statement items that bring flair and energy to your overall persona.

  • Mother & Grandmother

Aware of the influence we have on one another, I have learned that carrying ourselves with style and grace can positively shape how others receive what we have to say. I enjoy sharing timeless wisdom passed down to me, which I hope to pass down to my grandchildren. Echoing Audrey Hepburn's sentiment, "For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone." This message is one I cherish and aim to impart to future generations.

My past influences, but does not define me. Pain is inevitable, but suffering is a choice. In my books, I discuss how "Ordinary Angels"—strangers who offered profound kindness—helped me overcome domestic abuse and the devastating loss of my son to suicide.

My hope is that these compelling narratives of resilience and hope, born from extraordinary kindness of others, will inspire readers to recognize the Ordinary Angels in their own lives.

Meet my mother, Nancy.

My mother always smiled at children, held the door for those behind her, hurried us across the street if a car was waiting, and formed friendships with people from all walks of life. She had a special kindness for those who were hurting and encouraged me to reach out to the child at school sitting alone at lunch.

Extraordinary Kindness

As preschoolers, my brother and I often accompanied my mother as she volunteered at a home for the elderly. While she led sing-alongs and gave haircuts and perms, we played games and chatted with the residents. Long before seatbelt laws were in place, she would pack our blue Dodge station wagon full of seniors for outings to the bowling alley. I can still picture the elderly men and women laughing like children. With a cane in one hand and a bowling ball in the other, they’d carefully roll their ball right down the middle of the lane… and into the gutter. She volunteered for a variety of organizations spreading light and joy throughout her life.

A beautiful tribute by Isiah Robertson about my mother (“Miss Nancy”) who volunteered at House of Isaiah for over 18 years.

Meet my grandmother, Ruth.

Laughter and fun, paired with compassion and common courtesy, were always part of our shopping excursions, lunch outings, and everyday moments together. My grandmother continually demonstrated the importance of small gestures, like acknowledging a store clerk or waitress by name while they assisted us or holding the door for a mother with a stroller. These simple acts of kindness were emphasized as far more important than adding to our fashion collections. By sharing her example, I hope to inspire others to feel confident, empowered, and equipped in making their own positive impact.

Ruth had a habit of turning her mishaps, blunders, and unsuccessful attempts into stories that others found amusing. Yes, she looked sophisticated, but she and my mother both were often hilarious and taught me to laugh at myself rather than take myself too seriously.
